Stress and Anxiety Treatment

You’re Not Sure If You’re Killing It or It’s Killing You

On the surface, it looks like you’re killing it. Sure, you’re busy but you get stuff done every day. You always take on more responsibilities, add to your to-do list, and say yes, yes, yes. You smile and keep moving at a ridiculous pace – that’s what you’re used to, after all. No one would suspect you were dealing with stress and anxiety.

But it’s a different story behind that smile. Thoughts and worries you cannot control consume most of your day. You’re taking on things because you’re afraid that if you say no you’ll be seen as mean, uncooperative, or inflexible. And no matter how hard you try, your brain just never seems to shut up.

You are irritable and overwhelmed. And you’re afraid to talk to anyone about it for fear that you will look stupid or break down crying. If they see you, they will know you aren’t doing as well as they think you are. You find yourself wondering, “is this normal? Does everyone feel this way?”

Being at 100 All the Time is Exhausting

You feel on edge all the time to the point that you’re EXHAUSTED. Relaxing feels impossible because the endless to-dos, worries, and “what-if’s” just won’t stop. Sleep is hit or miss. Either you collapse because you’re completely worn out or you’re awake for hours. Your brain just won’t stop going over all the things you need to do and the mistakes that you’ve made.

You can’t even enjoy your time with your friends or your partner because your brain never shuts up. Every minute is consumed with what comes next, what needs to be done, or even things you said and did. When you try to do things you enjoy, you find yourself feeling guilty because it is time that should be spent doing something else.

Every day you feel like you’re walking a tightrope, only one slip away from losing it or falling apart. You keep waiting for everyone else in your life to figure out that you’re a fake who has no idea what they are doing. Sometimes it feels impossible to get out of bed and face the day because you’re so worn out.

Imagine feeling calm enough to be able to connect with a loved one or enjoy that book you want to read. To say no without feeling like the world will end and not second-guessing yourself every time you open your mouth.
